A WRONG PIECE OF ADVICE

When you are new to the whole “living your life” programme, when you have just known how this world works and how you have to deal with it, one wrong piece of advice can tumble down your whole process.

It is important for you to check who you work with, who you follow and what you want to manifest. A mentor plays such a huge role in your way of working, way of thinking, your career and your life. The way a mentor has influence on you is extremely subtle yet constant.

Any person, any age, any personality and any relation can be a mentor to you. Be free to this idea. A 4-year-old can be a mentor to you through his actions, his innocence. Try learning from every stranger you meet. Try seeing good in people before you judge. Take advice from people who faced failure, and still strive hard for success. Stop dismissing people to take advice from because of their appearances.

Be open to ideas but be thoughtful about from whom you take advice. The company you keep, the people who influence you is your choice and not a choice the society makes for you. Remember that. Be grateful and always look for good in situations while believing that every move you make is going to be thoughtful and wholesome.

Take advice, be appreciative. And when you use the lessons and the advice you receive, be sure to have your take on it, use your version of it. After all YOU are using it in YOUR life for YOU.

HOME

(this is a rant/ self-discovery piece)

Where is my home?

Do I have a home or am I just a nomad?

At first I used to think HOME was a place, a physical place where you find peace and tranquillity.

But as i shed the feathers of naivety i realise HOME is not just a place;

It's a feeling

It's the feeling when I see the smile on my mother’s face which I've helped create.

It's the feeling when I’m with my friends.

It's the feeling when my father greets me every day when he comes home in spite of how tired he is.

It's the feeling when I’m lost in music, feeling content and just.. Happy

HOME is not a place for me.

It's the warmth of people, the chaos of having different harmonies of people clashing together yet still making a beautiful imperfect but perfect melody.

HOME isn't a place of peace.

It's the relief of finding solace in the heavy rain.

The heavy rain or this solace isn't permanent but the temporary, changing nature of this relief is what makes it special.

HOME is just being incandescently happy. Even if it's just for a moment.

WPI INFLATION HITS IT’S ALL TIME HIGH IN INDIA

Inflation is an economic term, which represents the rise in prices of goods and services resulting in a decrease in the purchasing power of the currency. Due to inflation, more units of currency are consumed to buy certain goods and services, than it did in the past. For instance, lets take petrol. In 2010, petrol was priced at around 50 Rs/litre and today it is costs around 100 Rs/litre. In a decade, the petrol prices have almost doubled up. Prices of the economically influential commodities like Gold and Silver have more than doubled in the past decade. Gold has risen from 19000 to around 50000 today. While silver rocketed from 27000 to 70,000. Steel in 2019 would cost you INR 47000 per ton and in 2021 it takes INR 58000 per ton from your pocket.

India’s wholesale inflation rose to its highest ever- 10 percent, aided by a spike in prices of metals and fuel. Commodities which are important for commercial and industrial purposes, have arisen due to weak global supply chain and transport, the reason being an imposed lockdown in many countries. Even if the wholesale price inflation being high, the consumer price inflation (CPI) is only around 4 percent, due to low demand of those goods consumed by the general public. Downsizing, minimal earnings due to lockdowns and a crash in the economy are some of the major reasons behind the low value of CPI. To bring back demand from the consumers, the Indian Government had announced an economic package worth 21 lakh crores. Now one may ask, why can’t the Government just print more notes to alleviate the poverty?

The answer to this question is quite simple. Even if we print more units of currency, the goods that are being produced don’t increase as the same rate as that of the currency. As a result of this, more units of currency chase similar amount of goods and services, and according to the supply-demand principle the prices will hike and the purchasing power of that unit of currency will depreciate resulting in a catastrophic economic crisis. For instance, the inflation rate in Zimbabwe in 2019 stood at a whooping rate of 225% as compared to the 10% in 2018.

IS INFLATION GOOD

In an economy, inflation is viewed positively as it supplements consumer demands, which liberates production, generating employment which in turn helps in the growth of an economy. Inflation is good when it helps to drive away deflation which is more harmful for the economy. But though it is essential for growth of an economy, inflation mustn’t go out of control and managing it is an important aspect of an economy.

BUTLER, BAIRSTOW RESTED AND ARCHER, STOKES MISS OUT DUE TO INJURIES.

England on Tuesday named a 15-member squad for the series against New- Zealand starting 2 June. Jos butler, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes and Sam Curran have been rested due to the tough schedule they had to follow during and post the IPL. They are expected to return to their particular counties after sufficient rest. Keeper-batsman James Bracey and seamer Ollie Robinson have gained their maiden call-ups for the Test side. Bracey and Robinson have been in good form in the initial stages of the County and that seems to be the reason behind awarding them spots in the Test squad. Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer have been ignored from selection due to respective injuries. England’s bowling department will be led by James Anderson and Stuart Broad along with Mark Wood and Olly Stone. Many of the main players in the setup being rested or injured, these two tests will be a good opportunity for England to test their bench strength.

The full England Squad is as follows:

Joe Root (captain) James Anderson, James Bracey, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Zak Crawley, Ben Foakes, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Craig Overton, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Dom Sibley, Olly Stone, Mark Wood.

CHELSEA BEAT LEICESTER IN RETALIATION TO BOLSTER TOP-FOUR HOPES

Chelsea are on course to qualify for the Champions League after an important 2-1 home win against top four rivals Leicester City as fans returned back to the Premier league. Fans were allowed into the stadiums for the first time since December following rapid vaccination & decreasing caseload in the UK. The support from the fans was loud throughout and Chelsea made sure to match that atmosphere on the pitch, avenging their loss in the FA Cup Final against the foxes.

The home side broke the deadlock early into the second half with Antonio Rudiger guiding the ball into the back of the net from a corner after Leicester failed to clear the ball. Chelsea were in cruise control and doubled their lead with a Jorginho penalty in the 66th. But the Blues threw the 2-goal cushion they had after Kelechi Iheancho slotted the ball home in the 76th minute. Chelsea lived on the edge during the eight minutes of stoppage time. But they held on while a brawl erupted in the closing stages of the game which featured every player and staff member from the two sides. It was closer than it should have been, as Chelsea should have seen themselves through after Jorginho’s penalty. However, all that mattered was the three points as Chelsea have almost secured their top four finish at the expense of Leicester, making up for missing out on the FA Cup against Leicester last weekend.
