Quote Of The Day

We can design our future, only by changing our present. We should start taking steps in a way to lead us to our goal. If we start taking efforts to change our regular leading life into something out of the box, only then can we expect an unusual, interesting future

 BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF MONEY MARKETS

Money market refers to trading in very short-term debt investments. Here, short-term refers to a span of less than a year. It involves high volume trades between investors and professional traders while retail investors invest in it through mutual funds and through banking services. The contributors to the money markets are the Central Banks, Commercial Banks & Companies. Market can be described as a Money Market if it consists of liquid and short-term assets. Companies can raise funds in such markets by issuing Bonds, Debentures, etc. Companies need long term borrowings and loans for funding their operations which are provided in the capital market. However, the capital market follows trends in money markets. The short-term interest rates of the money market influence long term secular trends of the capital markets.

There is certain data and rates released by the RBI which have a huge impact on money markets. Bonds and debentures pay a fixed interest which is dependent on the federal funds rate. This is the rate imposed by the RBI for banks to lend or borrow excessive reserves. Most bonds pay a fixed interest rate that becomes more attractive if interest rates decrease driving up the prices of the bond. Conversely, rise in interest rates makes investors not prefer the lower interest rates offered by the bond, resulting in a decline in its price.

The money markets encourage investors to save which brings investments through debt in the economy. Savings & investments help in the growth of the economy. Finally, the Money Market is not a very sought after or pursued market compared to the stock or commodity market. But it is an important aspect of the Economy not only because of its volume (approx. - 600,000 Cr per day) but also because of the purpose it serves.
Securities are traded, bought, sold or mortgaged which helps the young entrepreneurs get a loan with less interest or helps commercial banks get an extra income.
However, Directly the common Public does not interact with the Money Market.

SIMPLICITY IN DIFFICULTIES

Each curveball life throws at you, makes it easier for yourself to be able to dodge it. Each and every one of us knows exactly how much time and energy we spend surviving through adversities and difficult situations. Here are simple tricks for how to be easy-going and simple when you battle difficulties, because that is how you need to be: to be thinking in a calm and rational manner, and make efficient and responsible decisions during these tough times.

~ When you start realizing you are panicking, drop everything you are doing, and blankly stop for an entire minute. Give your brain to contemplate what exactly needs to be done.

~ Find out why it is necessary for you to go through these tough times. Try to visualize the pot of gold at the end of this rainbow.

~ Think about how this success will affect you and your loved ones.

~ Practically break down your problems into smaller parts, find the reason behind each problem.

~ Tackle simply one problem at a time

~ Take it up as a challenge, as an opportunity, as a way to prove people who question your capability, wrong.

~ Simply ask for help from friends and family, if necessary.

~ Remember this is temporary yet important, and a better you are coming out of this process.

~ Simplify your actions into intentions, and your problems into tasks.

~ Enjoy the process, seek love and emotional support from people you trust the most.

~ Practically research how to tackle a certain problem and try implementing it into real life.

~ Believe in yourself, because, c’mon you have before, and can easily handle way worse than this.

Life’s not as hard as they make it to be. Be yourself. Have faith. Work hard.

It’s not that difficult.

LESSON FROM THE LOCKDOWN

One fine day,

A newspaper line captured my eye.

"Covid cases in India rising", it said.

I wondered, how would the year pass by?

It seemed like,

Everything turned upside down, in just a moment.

The "King of Viruses" spreading its expanse

Was enough to lament.

Work for and from Home,

Online lectures, meetings became the new normal.

Technology brought out the ecstasy.

A year back all these things felt surreal.

The world witnessed,

A sudden pause, which gave lessons implied lifelong.

As and when, we're recovering from the setbacks,

With optimism and elation, Life goes on!

WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL: WHO SEEMS TO HAVE AN UPPER HAND

With the World Test Championship Final just weeks away, let’s have a look at some of vital aspects that may play a role in paving the way for the champions. New Zealand are set to play two tests against England before the world test championship final. These two tests immediately before the final can prove as a jackpot for the Kiwis. Any team always wishes to have some games before the ‘big event’, which gives the team momentum and confidence. In these two games before the WTC final, New Zealand can actually test their blooming players, fix selection issues, find backups for key players, etc. It is a fine chance for the Kiwis to find their perfect XI just before the big game. As on the other side, India has no such games fixed before the WTC final, which means they won’t have any game-time. India won’t be able to test their young guns and would just have to keep faith that they would fire. Also, besides net practice, and some practice matches, India would not get any real-time match situation experience hence not getting much help to reduce the pressure of the big event. The New Zealand players having already played there, they would have a good know-how of the conditions there. On the other hand, Indian players would take time to asses and adjust to the conditions there. If New Zealand win the series or even the second match of the series, they would be high on confidence and would comparatively feel less pressure. The conditions there suit the Kiwis, so they will seem to be more comfortable. Though India is not a team to be taken lightly, the Kiwis will seem to have a slight advantage regarding conditions, comfort and probably confidence too.

LUIS SUAREZ STEERS ATLETICO MADRID TO LA LIGA GLORY,

LILLE OSC PULL OFF AN UNIMAGINABLE FEAT

The last time Atletico Madrid went on to win the title was in 2014, things had gone down to the wire back then, and it was not different seven years later. Atletico came back from behind to win 2-1 twice in a week and clinch the title in a season full of nerve-racking action to the last moment. Atletico’s title victory has ended a seven-year duopoly by FC Barcelona & Real Madrid. The linchpin of this stupendous achievement- Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan made an instant impact at the club after joining in as a free agent from Barcelona. Suarez has netted in 21 goals this season, helping Atletico on their way to the title, the two matchwinners last week proving the most vital.

Top since week 12, Atletico hung on to the lead till the end. Their final day opponents Real Valladolid couldn’t. Valladolid fought, but in the end, they were proven to be relegation bound. As for Real Madrid, they managed to do what was in their own hands to grab the three points, but fell short of the title thanks to the man who arrived at Real’s city rivals from Barca. The season particularly didn’t end well for Barca as well considering the title hopes they had until last week.

“Yes, I am sure. Atletico welcomed me from the minute I arrived. I asked the club if there was room for me on the museum wall to make history at Atletico. The situation I had to live through, the way I was looked down on, but Atletico opened the door for me.”

~Luis Suarez when asked about his future

However, there are key concerns over the future of players at the two Spanish powerhouses Barcelona & Real Madrid. Barcelona’s club captain Lionel Messi & his counterpart at Real, Sergio Ramos, both see their contracts expire next months, while there is uncertainty over whether coaches Ronald Koeman & Zinedine Zidane will stay at the clubs.

Meanwhile in France, Lille OSC are Ligue 1 champions after a 2-1 away win at Angers. This is Lille’s 4th title and their first in the last 10 years putting an end to PSG’s domination of Ligue 1. This title inflicts pain and misery on PSG, whose attempts at flaunting money are proving to be futile and there are disappointments season in and season out.  They won 2-0 away to keep the pressure till the end, but never had the title’s destiny in their own hands going into the final matchday.

ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI BREAKS GERD MUELLER’S RECORD, WINS EUROPEAN GOLDEN BOOT EN ROUTE BAYERN’S 30TH BUNDESLIGA TITLE VICTORY

For the first time in his career, Robert Lewandowski has won the golden boot. The Bayern Munich and Polish striker has put an incredible tally of 41 goals in 29 league appearances to claim the top scorers spot in Europe. He also managed to break Gerd Mueller’s 49-year-old record for scoring the most goals in a single German league season. His tally is by far the highest total recorded by a player in Europe. Despite missing some of the action of the season due to injury, he was able to outclass all other strikers from across Europe to hand himself the golden boot. His impressive performance day in and day out has handed Bayern their 30th league title.

OTHER KEY TAKEAWAYS FROM DOMESTIC LEAGUES SEASON FINALE:

-MANCHESTER CITY LIFT THEIR 7TH LEAGUE TITLE

-LIVERPOOL & CHELSEA SECURE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFICATION

-INTER MILAN LAND 19TH SERIE A TITLE TO END DECADE LONG DOMINATION BY JUVENTUS

-AFC AJAX WIN 35TH DUTCH TITLE
