SCUBA - Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus

First used in a patent submitted in 1952 by Christian James Lambertsen , SCUBA helps the diver to breathe underwater without depending on air supply from the surface. In this system, diving cylinders containing breathing gas at high pressure supplies the diver with breathing gas via a diving regulator and the diver transports the cylinder with himself/herself. The exhaled gas is released into the surrounding water.

INDIA’S TOP 15 ANNOUNCED FOR THE WORLD TEST CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL; RAHUL, AGARWAL, THAKUR MISS OUT.

Soon after New Zealand announced its final 15-member squad for the world test championship final, India too has finalized their top-15. The members were obviously selected from the larger squad that was nominated for the final. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal have been omitted from the final -15 squad, which clears the dust over the second opener’s slot. The management has decided to show faith in young Shubman Gill and have backed him to deliver. The squad has rest of the Indian batting line-up of Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant. Wriddhiman Saha has been picked up as the backup wicket-keeper. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandra Ashwin both make the cut, which shows the likeliness of them playing together if the weather in Southampton is not particularly more overcast and the pitch seems to be dry. India’s has more pace options in Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Washington Sundar and Axar Patel were out of the 15-man squad due to both Jadeja and Ashwin being totally fit. Shardul Thakur, who could have played the role of the seam bowling all rounder India needed is also out of the squad meaning the management is considering him only as fast bowler.

This top 15 squad has solved the problem of the second opener’s slot. If the weather is very much overcast and the pitch suits fast bowling, India would look to play 4 seamers in Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj and either of Ashwin and Jadeja. If it seems that the pitch is dry and would play tricks by day 3 or day 4, India can play both Jadeja and Ashwin, and go with 3 seamers with Ishant and Siraj fighting for the 3rd seamer’s slot. Getting the right playing XI depending on the conditions is vital for India’s success in the WTC final.

EURO 2020 GROUP OF DEATH: HUMMELS OWN GOAL HANDS FRANCE CRUCIAL 1-0 TRIUMPH OVER GERMANY, RONALDO BECOMES ALL TIME HIGHEST GOAL SCORER IN EUROS

Germany had never previously lost an opening European Championships game. However, an own goal from Mats Hummels was enough to hand France a victory over Germany in their opening Group of Death match on Tuesday in Munich. The veteran was recalled to the German team by coach Joachim Low after his absence in the World Cup 2018 proved costly for Germany. The German was attempting to fend off Lucas Hernandez’s cross into the box but only managed to awkwardly deflect the ball from his shin into the back of the net past the helpless Manuel Neuer.

There were chances at both ends and the game was evenly balanced as Germany controlled most of the possession while France had several opportunities to catch Germany on the counter. However, Germany were rather clumsy in possession as they failed to move the ball quickly in the final third. Whenever they did, the chances were squandered by players. Ilkay Gundogan’s miss in the first half proved costly for the Germans. The ball fell for Gnabry at the stat of the second half but his shot went over the crossbar.

On the other hand, France were threatening on the counter with the pace of Kylian Mbappe. The French star on one occasion was tackled to perfection by Hummels, preventing him from doubling France’s advantage. Mbappe still had managed to slot the ball home but the linesman’s flag dismissed his goal. It seemed that Benzema had a fairytale return to the team when he put the ball past Neuer after Mbappe squared it off to him. However, Mbappe was confirmed offside in the build up to the goal and the goal was dismissed.

Germany were gasping for an equalizer in the closing stages of the game, however their attempts yielded no results. Low sent in forwards Leroy Sane, Timo Werner & Kevin Volland as a last resort but none could make the difference.

Germany next have a must win match against Portugal on Saturday who defeated Hungary 3-0 on the same night.

However, the score line from that match does not tell the full story. The game saw Portugal sending wave after wave of attacks against a resilient Hungary defence who were exceptional. Hungary had chances of their own and proved themselves worthy opponents of the champions. They even managed to find the back of the net but their goal was disallowed for offside. Hungary frustrated Portugal with their defence. The game was set for a draw, but it all started falling apart for the Hungarians when Raphael Guerreiro got lucky and scored from a deflection. The Hungary side were exhausted and lost focus in the closing stages after chasing the ball for most of the game. This saw Cristiano Ronaldo score two record breaking goals and go past Michael Platini to become the all-time highest goal scorer in European Championships.

ITALY BEAT SWITZERLAND 3-0 TO BECOME FIRST TEAM TO BOOK PLACE IN THE KNOCKOUT STAGES

Italy have impressed yet again and have sealed their place in the knockout stages with another 3-0 victory, this time against Switzerland. The new look Italy are impressive with their flair at the Euros. They have come a long way since failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, and the turnaround has been quite remarkable for the Azurris under Roberto Mancini. Italy are banking on their impenetrable defence to keep alive their renewed hopes of major tournament glory. The midfield is simply remarkable while the forwards never fail to put on a show.

Two goals from midfielder Manuel Locatelli and another icing on the cake goal from Immobile has meant that Italy lead Group A with 6 points from two games after thrashing Turkey 3-0 in the opening game in same fashion. Italy next face Wales on Sunday who sit on 4 points after defeating Turkey 2-0 in Baku.
