Quote Of The Day
Success is not final, failures are not fatal. It is the courage to continue, that counts.
~Winston Churchill
This quote tells us that, getting successful in achieving a goal doesn't mean you've won the world. And in addition to that, it also tells us that it is absolutely okay to not succeed on a given goal. In short, we understand that success should be never taken to the head and failure to the heart. What eventually matters is our efforts and our determination to work hard.
Subhashita
किं पौरुषं रक्षति यो न वार्तान्किं वा धनं नार्थििजनाय यत्स्यात् |
सा किं क्रिया या न हितानुबद्धा किं जीवितं साधुविरोधि यद्वै ||
Explanation
The courage of a person who does not perform deeds for the protection of the of the weak and underprivileged is of no use. Similarly money which is not used for the walfare of the poor is of no use. Also, the deeds which are not virtuous are useless and the lives of people who harass virtuous people are a waste.

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY RELATED EXCLUSIVE CONTENT
My Experience with Yoga
I started practicing yoga at the age of 6. I also began doing yoga at a competitive level at an early stage. I won medals at national and international level yoga competitions. For the last 11 years, it has helped me become a better person in various ways. It increased my flexibility, concentration, strength, stamina as well as confidence. It made my mind calm, focused and positive. I am sure that it will continue to show its wonders in the future too.
Yoga has been practiced in India since ancient times. Yoga is derived from a sanskrit word 'Yuj' which means to join or to bind. I feel that it is a perfect union of our mind and body. Yoga is so much more than just touching your toes. It consists of 8 elements which help to build a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
1. Yama: social restraints like non violence, etc.
2. Niyama: a set of do’s including hygiene, satisfaction, etc.
3. Asana: doing specific postures of the body.
4. Pranayam: control on breath.
5. Pratyahara: mastery through senses.
6. Dharana: to focus on the goal.
7. Dhyan: meditation.
8. Samadhi: mastery on our inner self.
Yoga is a vehicle for self change. It brings inner peace, emotional stability, physical strength and healthy relationships. This is the power of yoga...

THINGS THAT SEEM COOL BUT ARE NOT:
So,
this is a cold-hearted confession, and I would be wrong to say “personal
opinion”,
but we all need this wake-up. This is
especially true of all the teenagers out there,
including
me, because we are not understanding the intensity of how subconsciously we practically
ruin lives that literally maybe our age. Even though your intentions, you do small
things to seem cool to your friends, that you hurt some people so badly, you
practically
kill their mental and emotional well-being. So here it goes:
^
bullying
^
being judgemental along with gang
^
comment on:
~
clothing sense
~
academic ability
~
looks
~
height/ weight/ other physical features
~
people they choose to hang out with
^
deliberately leaving them out, even if they don’t cause you even a minor
problem
^ spreading rumors
^
betraying
^
giving up on your values just to seem cool or impress someone
^
disrespecting someone as a human and without a cause
So,
let’s stop sugar-coating this, and face it point blank. Admit our mistakes,
apologize
and step up to be better humans, because we are setting wrong standards even
for
how someone should treat us. Treat someone how you would treat yourself. Take
care
of
people as humans, and not as sassy millennials.
Love,
and I’ll be back with more!

June – Global Festival
Haro Wine Festival, Spain
Date: 28th to 30th June
The Batalla del Vino – literally
translated as 'Battle of Wine' – takes place just outside of the small town of
Haro, in the heart of the La Rioja wine region. The Wine Festival takes place
on June 29, the day of the patron saint San Pedro. The day begins at 9:00 am,
with a procession of people of all ages carrying jugs, bottles, botas, and
other types of containers filled with red wine. Led by the town mayor on
horseback, the procession winds through Haro to the Cliffs of Bilibio. A mass
is then celebrated at the Hermitage of San Felices de Bilibio. The actual
battle takes place approximately 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) outside of town in
the Riscos de Bilibio hills. It all started in the 13th century when a land
dispute erupted between Haro and the neighboring town of Miranda de Ebro in
northern Spain. Others believe the battle evolved from wine baptisms performed
at a chapel built in honor of the city's patron, San Felices. The participants
toss wine on each other until everyone is completely soaked. This is a super
fun event and tourist-friendly. The dress code is simple: wear a white
t-shirt that you fully expect to become a grape-purple by the end
of the battle. Following mass is led by the town's mayor, fill up your water
pistols and buckets with La Rioja red, and prepare to get sprayin'.
