Quote Of The Day
In this world, wherever you go, there is competition. People are always there to compete, defeat and knock you down. But it's only you who can struggle to achieve your success despite of these obstacles. But, if you have faith in yourself and you can rise each time you hit a setback, even if the whole world decides to drag you down, you will never fail. So, we must always brush ourselves and get back in the race.

Explanation
Neither carrying heavy loads nor having to eat stale and musty food aggrieves me. But I am tormented when people compare me to a fool or a halfwit. Who am I?

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY SPECIAL ARTICLES AND POEMS ON NATURE
THE BEAUTIFUL SAHYADRIS
The Western Ghats of India also known as The Sahyadris are major
mountain ranges ranging from Maharashtra to Kerala along the marvellous Western
coast of India. This mountain range spreads over 1600km and has an elevation of
2600 meters. As the monsoon season is approaching, I was taken back to the
mesmerizing and unforgettable trip to these wonderful mountains. We had made up
our minds that if we were going to do something we were going to do it in the
best way possible and hence we were going to climb the most colossal peak in
Maharashtra.
As we were approaching the village near Igatpuri named Bari from where our mysterious endeavour was going to begin we looked up to see the magnificence of the humongous mountain we were drafting to climb. This beautiful peak was the home to waterfalls which were white as milk and trees so green that they looked fake, the peak was inexpressibly beautiful which was towering above the clouds who with jealous eyes were drooling over this natural marvel in the form of rain.
During this trip on the road to paradise the pouring of the cool
raindrops on your cheeks was eternal bliss it felt like the skies were
communicating with all that is living on the surface. If only I had a plate of
hot fritters and a warm cup of tea I could stay here for the rest of my
life.
The only thought gushing through my mind was what would it be like at
the top if the road itself is so beautiful and when I reached the peak the next
morning, I am so sure I saw heaven on Earth...
So many beautiful creatures dancing under the rainbow and the dense
clouds leaving only a few rays of the Sun on this peak is one that should be
experienced first-hand. While we were on the top, we saw a beautiful temple
which was built of rocks about 400 years ago. Such marvels leave you speechless
and above all that the temple was absolutely stunning which gives you a chill
down the spine screeching that God is real.

THE DRIZZLE
The crashing music of
the clouds.
A tiny little drop
enters the Chambers of Mother Earth.
Slowly, many trivial
droplets make their way...
The Monsoon season's
yearly rebirth!
Sweet clay fragrance
comes with beautiful thoughts,
Sitting on a couch
watching the shower.
With a cup of tea in
hand,
And hot snacks to
polish over!
Superb ambience, isn't
it?
We can't stop
absorbing it.
Simply interpret the
meaning it depicts,
Bit by bit.
WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
It is needless for me to say that we humans have damaged the environment to such an extent that we have threatened the survival of many species of plants and animals. Not only that, we have also exploited and damaged many habitats and ecosystems, stripping a vast number of animals of their homes. Apart from this, we have already destroyed 50% of wetlands and coral reefs on the planet. From this, we get an idea of the sheer amount of damage we have caused to the environment and the need for environmental conservation becomes apparent. For this purpose, the World Environment Day (WED) was established by the United Nations at the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. 5th June is celebrated as World Environment Day annually since 1974. This, basically, is a platform to fight various aspects of environmental degradation at various levels. Various institutions like Governments, Non-Governmental Organizations and corporate companies come up with different plans to counter environmental degradation on various fronts such as pollution, global warming and subsequent melting of glaciers, deforestation, destruction of wetlands and coral reefs and many more. Each year, the WED has a specific theme and is hosted by a different nation each year. All the official celebrations take place in this country and as much as 143 countries participate in this event each year. The theme for the first WED was ‘Only One Earth’ and was hosted by the US. India has hosted this event in the years 2011 and 2018. This year’s WED is being hosted by Pakistan with the theme ‘Ecosystem Restoration’.
What can we do?
I’m sure you must have heard or read this many times but we must support environment conservation in our own small ways. Wherever possible, we can avoid using private vehicles and travel on foot or using bicycles and public transport. Instead of throwing away plastic wrappers and bags, we can donate them to organizations which upcycle them and turn them into something much more durable and usable. Planting trees is of great importance but what is even more important is that the trees we plant must be local varieties and not some exotic ones. This is because exotic trees may not always blend with the local ecosystems and may even harm the existing ecosystem. This WED, let’s start using eco-friendly products and being more eco-friendly ourselves and contribute our bit in saving the planet.

EURO 2020 GROUP OF DEATH PREVIEW: WHO WILL RISE TO
THE OCCASION & KEEP TITLE
HOPES ALIVE?
(Left)Portugal coach: Fernando Santos. (Centre)Germany
coach: Joachim Löw.
(Right)France coach: Didier Deschamps
The group of death
means that fans can bank on exhilarating head-to-head action early on in the
competition. When it comes to this year’s Euro, Group F is inarguably the most
lethal. It features 4 times world champions Germany, 2 times and current world
champions France, defending European champions Portugal & Hungary who are
riding high on their recent form. These sides boast a total of 6 World Cups
& European titles between them.
Munich & Budapest
will host all of the ties from this group, meaning Germany & Hungary have
got the distinct home advantage. The return of veterans Thomas Muller &
Mats Hummels to the team is a plus for Germany, whose exclusion from the squad
in the 2018 world cup was undoubtedly a disaster. Many young prospects from the
Deutsch are at the peak of their respective careers and add that extra
firepower to their side which can see them through.
France are coming off
from a successful world cup campaign in Russia & are banking on their
talent combined with experience. Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, N’golo Kante
& Paul Pogba can make it or break it for the world cup champions. The
return of Karim Benzema is an ominous sign for all other teams.
Portugal have their
very own game changer Cristiano Ronaldo, who despite his age, continuous to
carry the weight of Portugal’s expectations on his shoulders. However, players
like Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes & Joao Felix are rising to the
occasion and stepping up to aid their captain.
All to play for in this group of death. Two teams will secure round of 16 spots but the third placed one will yet have a chance to become one of the six third placed teams who will qualify for the knockout phases.
A LOOK AT KEY PLAYERS
GERMANY:
Goalkeeper &
Captain: Manuel Neuer who is
considered one of the best shot stoppers in the entire world. His experience is
vital for the Deutsch. Known as ‘sweeper keeper’ he is known for plying the
unconventional way and is every so often seen playing in the midfield despite
being keeper…
Defenders: Mats Hummels, Niklas Sule & Antonio Rudiger
The three are the lynchpin of
Germany’s defence. Mats Hummels is a veteran who can keep the back line in
shape and can dictate the play very aptly.
Midfielders: Toni Kroos & Joshua Kimmich who both have the
power to turn the tide with their expertise.
Forwards: Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane & Timo Werner. Muller is
Germany’s playmaker and is called “ Raumdeuter” for his exceptional positional
play. Leroy Sane & Werner are also a force to reckon with despite poor form
in recent times.
FRANCE:
Goalkeeper &
Captain: Hugo Lloris. An
exceptional keeper in between the posts who has already seen France through 3
years ago to world cup glory.
Defenders: Raphael Varane, Presnel Kimpembe, Lucas Hernandez.
These three played a pivotal role in seeing France through the World Cup in
2018.
Midfielders: N’golo Kante, Paul Pogba. Both of them are one of
the best midfielders in the world. Kante is riding high from his Champions
League victory in Chelsea while Pogba has skill and experience to dictate the
play in the midfield.
Forwards: Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann & Karim Benzema. France
boast one of the world’s best forwards. Mbappe & Griezmann were the lynchpin
of France’s world cup triumph while the return of Benzema for the first time
since 2015 is a warning to all goalposts around Europe.
PORTUGAL:
Goalkeeper: Rui Patricio. A
prolific shot stopper.
Defenders: Ruben Dias, Pepe,
Joao Cancelo, Nelson Semedo. This back four has got varied players. Pepe has
experience while Ruben Dias is in exceptional form.
Midfielders: Bruno Fernandes,
Bernardo Silva, Ruben Neves. Exceptionally talented players who are one of the
most regarded in the Premier League.
Forwards: Joao Felix, Andre Silva.
Players who can turn the tide with their sheer brilliance.
Captain: Cristiano Ronaldo. Perhaps
the greatest of all time. Its debatable but as his counterpart Messi is not
part of the Euro, he can be considered the finest in Europe.
