Quote Of The Day

This quote gives us a very important message. We very well know that our life is like a rollercoaster ride. It's has its own highs and lows. That is, sometimes we get successful while sometimes we fail. But we must keep in mind one thing, which is, we should never take both too seriously. Instead of taking success to our head and boasting about it, we should remain down to earth. And failure must never affect us in a negetive way as it makes us loose our confidence.

अतिदानात् बलिर्बद्धो ह्यतिमानात् सुयोधनः ।

 विनष्टो रावणो लौल्यात् अति सर्वत्र वर्जयेत् ||

Explanation

King Bali was ensnared due to excess charity, while Duryodhana due to excess pride. Ravana was killed due to excess lust. This shows that anything in excess is baneful and hence should be avoided.

Historical Significance of the Day

24th July in history

1991, Manmohan Singh, the then Finance Minister of India, presented his first and the revolutionary 1991-92 budget. The new game- changing industrial policy was introduced on the eve of the Budget 1991.  India 1991, was facing its worst ever economic-crisis, Singh under the Rao-led Congress government brought in reforms that helped India dodge the crisis. But it wasn't as easy as writing this statement. Only a month had passed since Dr. Singh had sworn in the cabinet of the ministers of the Congress Government. In front of him, stood a monumental task of tactfully bringing India out of this. The rupee was devalued, gold was pledged to make forex reserves stable and the government took emergency loans. The trade policy and Industrial policy were reformed. The new industrial policy was instrumental in lessening the contemporary public sector monopoly in many fields. The reforms facilitated easier ways of doing business in India, attracting global companies to India. The work of pulling India out of the crisis continued for the next eight months, with a follow -up trade policy and various packages.

Journey of youTHink - THE UNTOLD STORY

It was a boring afternoon, every student was locked inside his house without having any clue about their future. And so was I, I had finished my lunch and was just browsing through social media, and suddenly, I received a message on my class group, from Atharva Godbole, (1st Editor) that he wants to start a publication and wants help from some of the  students if anyone is willing.

Some of my mates ignored it, some responded and I was one of them. So thus, the editors had come together.

We had no idea what was in Atharva’s mind but we agreed for a Google meet. In the meet we discussed what we were going to do, what was our motive and finally NAME. I remember Siddhesh Umarjee (Editor) came up with the name YOUTHINK. I personally think it is impossible for a name better than this.

We discussed our roles, website was created and we started. Well it is not a happy end here, on our first day we achieved 900 views, but on the second day we received around 300 views. I was shocked a bit but others were calm, and the reason is I am not as matured as the rest of the Editors, they knew about this fall.

Now we were slow but steady enough to continue our journey towards success.

We never in our wildest dreams expected our views to go that high as 4500 views in just 17 publications.

And one more thing, we would have never achieved this success without our amazing writer’s. They have a lion’s share to this success.

And I want to personally thank the rest of the Editor’s for being who they are, and for accepting me in their team, and I just want to say it is my honor to work with such dedicated people.

Writer: Aditya Jogalekar (editor: youTHink)

Editor's Note:

Thank You a lot Adu for dedicating this article to us. It has certainly motivated us to continue this venture.

Readers, Aditya Jogalekar is also one of the main editors who makes sure what we make reaches the audience. Without his effort we would never have achieved such success. Thanks a lot!!!
