Quote Of The Day

 ~ Benjamin Franklin

In this quote, the writer tells us that everything in life is uncertain. We don't know what will life, fate and destiny bring before us. But what is definite, is that all of us die at some point and everybody has to pay the taxes.

देहे पातिनि का रक्षा यशो रक्ष्यमपातवत् | नरः पतितकायोऽपि यशःकायेन जीवति ||

Explanation

Everyone is going to die one day or the other at which time the body gets destroyed. So, why care too much for our body? Instead one should try to gain fame for good deeds as finally its the reputation that remains and not the body.

Tech Buzz

MOTO G60

Whenever someone comes across a device, the first thing that catches the eye is the size of that device, and the size of the Moto g is big enough. It has a 6.8-inch display with an incredibly fast 120 Hz of refresh rate which you can customize in the settings. Though it doesn’t have an Amoled screen, the normal LCD suits well. The device has Android- 11 in its pure version, often called as stock Android, originally developed by Google. The User Interface is the same as other stock Androids, and a gives a unique feel of the purity. This is a pretty well worked smartphone, and has its all essentials covered, which not very much seen these days, due to those flashy and extravagant features, the companies try to add. Another spec not to miss is that the whooping 6000 mAh battery it is provided with. The company claims to have 54 hours of battery life, but despite heavy use can work for almost 1/ 1.5 days. Motorola largely not known for its camera, has exceptionally done well here. It has a 108 MP main rear camera, claiming to have ultra-high-resolution sensor with two more 8MP and 2MP cameras. It has a 32MP front camera. A 6.8-inch screen complemented with a 6000 mAh battery, an obvious guess would be that the device will be heavy and it is. Weight is approximately from 210 to 220 grams. Not that it feels like a brick in the hand, but needs time to get adjusted to its weight. Fingerprint sensor is provided at the back of the phone and is claimed to be a bit sluggish, by some of the tech experts. The back of the phone is of course plastic- based, attracting a lot of fingerprints, due to which a case is advisable to use. All in all, would prove to be a good buy, considering the fact that it has an impressive battery life with moderate speed of the 6 GB RAM.

MAITHILI: THE DAUGHTER OF THE EARTH

Sita, Siya, Maithili, or Janaki, was the daughter of King Janaka of the legendary kingdom of Mithila. She is the main female lead character of the epic, the Ramayana. According to a legend, when Mithila had been struck by severe drought, King Janaka decided to plough the land with a golden plough, to attain Mother Earth’s blessings and while doing so, he found a baby left in a casket to its own fate. Janaka took the baby out, and lo and behold, as the baby began to cry, it began to rain, thus bringing prosperity to the land. The baby was thus named Janaki, the daughter of Janaka. She brought prosperity to the country, she was raised by foster parents, and before marriage, even though she did not have anyone to call her own, she was loved equally as her younger sisters.

She faced several difficulties in her life. The first example explaining this is the event when she was the one who should have been the Queen of Ayodhya and instead was sent to the forest just for the sake of her duty towards her husband, Lord Ram and had to face the hard life of a nomad. She was then kidnapped by the Asura Emperor, Ravana, as a revenge act for Lakshman, the brother of Lord Ram, who had cut off the nose of Shurpanakha, Ravana’s sister.

Throughout these trials and tribulations, Sita always proved her purity, innocence, and her devotion for her Lord. She is known as the epitome of an ideal woman, and her life teaches us that whatever may happen, one should stick to one’s principles, and should never do anything wrong, even at the cost of humiliation, one’s life, and the life of a dear one.

MUSIC – A WAY OF LIFE

Hello, I am 16-year-old singer, Shubhankar Kulkarni. I want to thank ‘youThink’ for giving me this opportunity to share my musical journey with you all. Music has been in my genes since birth. Both my parents are musicians. My father is a well-known music composer and a singer. My mother is a national award- winning singer. Music is not only about how you perform but also about all the music you hear and observe around you. My Mother has been singing to me since I was in her womb and also as a baby. She used to sing me lullabies and also shlokas from the Geeta. So, let’s just say that I have been into music since birth. My music career started when I was just 2 years old. It was just two words that I sang for a song my father had composed for a children’s album. That was an age I didn’t even realize that singing would one day become my passion. I was just enjoying all the attention I was getting. Being in a musical family, I got to witness the process of songs being made from scratch. I observed my father in the process of making the song right from discussions with the lyricist, the music arranger, the singer.... I would always observe him composing a song. At that age it was quite mesmerizing for me to see him put tune to words. Then came the rehearsals with the all the musicians and singers. This was the part I liked the best. I would often visit the recording studio to see how the song was being recorded.

I used all this knowledge in my first film song ‘Ekti Ekti Ghabarlis na’ which won me my first music award as a playback singer at a tender age of 7. From there started a career which teaches me a lot, every day. I have sung a lot of songs for albums, films and also performed in live shows. Every song, every performance teaches me something new. For me music is my passion and has become my way of life. Even in todays’ difficult times music is what keeps me positive and gives me hope for a better tomorrow.

HOW THE PANDEMIC AFFECTED MY TEACHING STYLE AND THE CHALLENGES FACED BY ME

It was last March; we all were encountering the unprecedented pandemic situation. For the first time, we were having first-hand acquaintance, with lockdown, isolation, and quarantine, altogether facing different challenges every day; physically, as well as mentally. We prepared ourselves for two-three months, not being aware of what was in store for us. Gradually, the term, “work from home”, came to a much concrete existence, that made people forget their social status and they actively began helping to accomplish the domestic chores. This is when we understood that the life of a housewife is not as easy as it seems. But this situation has its pros, and cons. As a family, we came very close, we could spend quality time together with our parents, grandparents, siblings. The children enjoyed the presence of their parents round the clock, which they yearned for a lot. That’s what we call ‘Best from the Waste’. In no time, there was a surge in the death rate, and each of us began to value our life, more than ever. It is indeed a difficult time, but we are facing it unitedly.

I didn’t want to be selfish, talking only about my own profession. I am a language teacher by profession, have been teaching for more than 27 years, as of today. As you all know there is not much difference between teachers, actors, and performers; when they see enthusiastic, excited, and inquisitive faces looking at them, it gives them a great moral strength. They are always alert, ready to satiate the thirst of the students for knowledge, as well as to give sheer happiness to the viewers. It was quite challenging for all the teachers, for they were working behind the camera for the first time. For a person like me, who is technologically challenged, it was more strenuous and pressurising to handle the laptop than teaching. Initially, I would lock myself in a room for three-four hours, just to train myself to teach in a class without students anticipating their fictitious reactions. During hot summer, while recording I couldn’t switch on the fan. I was forced to close the window to avoid the disturbance from outside. It would be suffocating. I had never done anything as challenging as this in my entire life. When you teach languages, you are full of interpretations, impromptu situations which you can create with your imagination, creativity, because you long to see that happiness and satisfaction on the faces. When teaching online, I always longed to see the reactions of my students, which assured me, whether they understood or not, that assured me, their understanding. It gave me a certain amount of morale boosting, that I miss. I had to change certain techniques, which I had been using for the past many years. I had to look at my face all the time, which was a unique thing. The constant use of the computer, and the constant vision took a heavy toll on my eyesight. It was exceedingly difficult to maintain verbal and mental coordination. A small room, your laptop, and a board, and nothing else. This feeling, I know, is particularly challenging, for all the teachers. All the time, I had in mind that I had to give my best. Hats off to all the teachers, who are taking endless efforts, and my dear children, I know, you are also doing your level best. It was, it is, and it will be very tough for all of us. Let’s join hands and fight the battle. I am sure, the scenario will, slowly but gradually, change.

CRICKET

India is set to play against Sri Lanka, during the same time as of the WTC final. There will be two different venues, two different opponents, two different squads for both of these matches. The squad for the World Test Championship Final, which has already been announced, will travel to England as planned, while a different squad will tour Sri Lanka, for the white ball leg. Three ODIs and three T20Is will be played on the tour. As India’s most of the main players will be busy with the WTC final, the Sri Lanka tour will be a great opportunity for the upcoming youngsters to prove their mettle. This tour is supposed to be India’s last white ball tour before the T20 world cup, which itself shows how important this tour is going to be. Where the IPL would have proved as a good platform to test the youngsters and make the selectors’ work easy for deciding the squad for the T20 world cup, this Sri Lanka tour will fill the hole created by the suspension of the IPL. Capable players who couldn’t get chances due to the presence of the stalwarts of the game in the XI, will find the Sri Lanka tour as a golden chance to perform well. Even though India will not be playing its best XI, the ‘second XI’ can surely pose a difficult challenge to Sri Lanka. India’s white -ball specialists are likely to be a part of this team. Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer provided he is fit can be the competitors for the leadership spot. This can also be a fine chance for players like Prithvi Shaw, who is slating to make a comeback in the team. Players like Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Tewatia who haven’t got a chance in the XI (due to fitness issues) despite their being in the squad, would like to make the most of this opportunity and try to seal their spots ahead of the World T20 Cup. Spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav would be looking to get back in form and show their real class, after stints of poor form. A great opportunity for the all youngsters in the mix, hope they extract the most out of it.

LIVERPOOL FC TAKE HOME THREE CRUCIAL POINTS AGAINST UNITED AS THEY KEEP THEIR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HOPES ALIVE

Liverpool breathed new life into their hopes of a top four finish in the Premier League after a 4-2 victory against Manchester United at the Old Trafford. Jurgen Klopp’s men are still trailing by 4 points against fourth placed Chelsea. Spearheading themselves into the top four is going to be a challenge for the Reds despite having an extra game in hand. But the Reds cleared the first hurdle in their path with a first victory away to United since 2014. If Liverpool defeat West Bromwich Albion on Sunday, they will close to within one and three points respectively of FA Cup finalists Chelsea and Leicester City who also have to play each other in the league.

“WE ARE STILL IN THE GAME, STILL IN THE RACE. THIS IS ALL WE COULD DO TONIGHT”

“THESE THREE GAMES CAN HAVE AN EXTREMELY POSITIVE OUTCOME. BUT WE DON’T NOW MAKE THE SECOND STEP BEFORE THE FIRST”

   ~Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool FC Manager

The Reds have fresh hopes and impetus with the knowledge that three wins out of their last three could most likely see them overhauling either of the FA Cup Finalists to seal a top four finish and the coveted Champions League qualification spot.

ATLETICO EDGE CLOSER TO LA LIGA TITLE WITH REAL HOT ON THEIR TRAIL

Atletico Madrid moved a step closer to becoming the Spanish Champions for the first time since 2014 with a tense 2-1 home victory over Real Sociedad. Atletico Madrid can seal the title with two wins from their last two games, anything else could mean they could potentially fall short of sealing the deal due to Real Madrid’s 4-1 thrashing of Granada. The Los Blancos are just two points behind Atletico and are giving it all to ensure the title race goes down to the wire. Real would come out on top if the two sides from Madrid end on the same points thanks to Real’s superior head-to-head advantage. Barcelona are the only other challengers for the title mathematically, but their title hopes are over with a 3-3 draw against Levante where they threw away a two-goal lead to end the game with just one point in hand. Table toppers Atletico will face against Osasuna before finishing their season with an away game against Valladolid having an easier route than Real who will face Athletic Bilbao and Europa League finalists Villarreal in their last two games.
